SALEM, Va.- The Randolph men's soccer team faced Roanoke on Wednesday evening at Donald J Kerr Stadium. The WildCats quickly countered an early Maroon goal but Roanoke tailed a pair of scores in the second half on its way to a 3-1 victory.

The setback drops Randolph's overall record to 4-5-4 and 2-3-2 in ODAC play. The Maroons improve to 7-7-1 overall and 5-3 in the conference.

RC got on the board in the sixth minute as Ryan Pigeon headed the ball over the head of Randolph keeper Carter Kelly (Carrollton, Va./Smithfield) and in for the score. Less than three minutes later, Randolph got the equalizer. After a Maroon foul and a reset, Hordy Ndambo (Kissimmee, Fla./Osceola) quickly made his way toward the net and fired a shot in to even the contest at 1-1.

The stalemate lasted until nearly five minutes of game time had elapsed in the second half as Jake Berecz scored for the Maroons. Roanoke scored its final goal of the night in the 68th minute.

Overall, Roanoke had a 10-4 advantage in total shots. The Maroons led in shots on goal 6-1. RC had a considerable lead in corner kicks 7-1.
