SWEET BRIAR, Va.- The Randolph women's soccer team made the short trip to the campus of Sweet Briar College as the WIidCats took on the Vixens on Wednesday evening. The WildCats dominated the game as they won by the score of 4-0.
Randolph improves its overall record to 7-4-1 overall. The Vixens drop to 3-7-1.
The WildCats attempted 64 shots in the game to set a new program record. It tops the old record of 61 that was set last season against Sweet Briar.
Randolph scored once in the first period to lead 1-0 at halftime. The WildCats went on to tally three goals in the second period with their second and third goals occurring less than two minutes apart.
Madison Booker (Norfolk, Va./Granby) had a goal and assist as did Joanne Torres (North Chesterfield, Va./Meadowbrook HS). Sterlyn Woodward (Madison, Va./Madison County HS) scored her team-leading sixth goal of the season. Riley Carl (Suffolk, Va./Homeschool) had Randolph's fourth goal of the night.
Abby Gilbert (Virginia Beach, Va.) got the start in goal and finished with three saves.
Randolph returns home to host Virginia Wesleyan on Senior Day Saturday. Game time is at 2:00 p.m.
