LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph men's soccer team faced Roanoke in the first Old Dominion Athletic Conference game for both teams on Wednesday night at WildCat Stadium. Both teams scored once in the first half but were scoreless in the second as they played to a 1-1 tie.
Fans were barely settled into their seats when the first goal was scored. Isaac Wolf put the Maroons ahead 1-0 24 seconds into the first half.
Randolph had just three shots in the first half. The WildCats made good on their third attempt as Gavin Leverette (Lynchburg, Va./E.C. Glass) found Colby Lambert (Chesapeake, Va./Western Branch) for the score to knot the game at 1-1 in the 43rd minute.
A total of four shots were taken in the second half as both defenses stood firm. Neither team had a shot on frame.
Zach Aylor (Vinton, Va./William Byrd) stopped three shots for the WildCats in the net. Zach Behe made one save for the Maroons.
Randolph travels to Guilford this Saturday. Game time from Greensboro is at 1:00 p.m.
