VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.- The Randolph women's soccer team made a late day trip out east to the campus of Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday to face the Marlins. VWU scored all of its goals in the first half as it won 3-0.
Randolph falls to 6-5-3 overall and 2-5-1 in the ODAC. The Marlins improve to 11-2-2 on the season and 6-1-1 in the conference.
The Marlins got on the board less than seven minutes into the first half. They would score again at 22:50 and then a third time on a penalty kick at 31:57.
Making her first start of the season in goal, Maddie Friel (Suffolk, Va./Nansemond River) finished with nine saves on the day.
Virginia Wesleyan led 30-5 in total shots and 12-2 in shots on goal. Corner kicks were also in their favor 5-1. Both teams committed 11 fouls.
Randolph travels to Guilford on Wednesday. Game time will be at 3:00 p.m.
