Women’s Soccer Ties Goal Record in Win Over Hollins

LYNCHBURG, VA.- The Randolph women's soccer team hosted Hollins in an ODAC game on Saturday evening at WildCat Stadium. The WildCats erupted for 12 goals on the night as they shut out HU 12-0.

The 12 goals scored by Randolph ties the team record that was set against Hollins in 2003. The win lifts the WildCats' overall record to 6-3-3 and 2-3-1 in the ODAC. Hollins falls to 0-9 overall and 0-6 in the conference.

Sterlyn Woodward (Madison, Va./Madison County) and Julia Crider (Forest, Va./Jefferson Forest) both had hat tricks in the game. Carlynne Wright (Lynchburg, Va./Jefferson Forest) and Joanne Torres (North Chesterfield, Va./Meadowbrook) both scored a pair of goals. Alana Ballowe (Dillwyn, Va./Buckingham County) scored as did Abby Whitlock (Cloverdale, Va./Lord Botetourt) the latter scoring the first goal of her career.

Alexis Bossi (Falls Church, Va./Justice) posted her sixth shutout of the season. That is a new Randolph season record and tops the previous record of five shared by Jess Maddox and Victoria Johnson with Johnson having last done it in 2008.

Randolph outshot Hollins 39-1 and 26-1 in shots on goal. Corner kicks were in Randolph's favor 15-2.

The WildCats host Randolph-Macon on Tuesday afternoon. Game time will be at 4:00 p.m.
