Women’s Soccer Shuts Out William Peace 2-0

Cary, N.C.- The Randolph women's soccer team traveled down to North Carolina for a non-conference match with host William Peace. The WildCats scored twice in the second half and strong defense held the Pacers off the scoreboard as Randolph won 2-0.

The Pacers outshot the 'Cats 8-6 in the first half. William Peace would get off five shots in nearly two and half minutes of game time with two going wide and three saved by WildCat keeper Alexis Bossi (Falls Church, Va./Justice).  Randolph had its chances with four shots coming on frame but all would be blanked by Pacers goalie Abigail Schaudi. The game was scoreless at halftime.

In the second half, Randolph continued its attack but would be denied by Schaudi four times. The 'Cats finally broke through in the 64th minute as Ella Myers (Cross Junction, Va./James Woods HS) scored her first collegiate goal to put Randolph ahead 1-0. The WildCats didn't have to wait too long for their next goal as a little over two and half minutes later, Taylor Batty (Limestone, Tenn./Kecoughtan (Va.) scored off an assist from Marisa Santacroce (Chesapeake, Va./Hickory) to make it 2-0 WildCats.

The Pacers were held to just two shots in the second half. Their only one on goal came with 49 seconds remaining in regulation that Bossi was able to defend.

Overall, Randolph led in total shots 22-10 and had a 9-7 advantage in shots on goal. Corner kicks were in the WildCats' favor 6-4.

Bossi finished with seven saves on the afternoon. Schaudi also had seven saves for William Peace.

The WildCats host Salem College this coming Wednesday. Game time from WildCat Stadium is set for 7:00 p.m.
