WildCats Shut Out Eagles 1-0

BRIDGEWATER, Va.- It was a rainy and dreary day as the Randolph's men's soccer team traveled to Bridgewater to take on the Eagles on Thursday afternoon. Despite being outshot in the game, the WildCats held BC off the scoresheet as they won 1-0.

Randolph improves its record to 4-1-1 overall and in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. Bridgewater drops to 1-4-2 overall and 0-4-2 in the conference.

Randolph had five shots in the first half but only one frame which occurred in the fourth minute of play. The WildCats had one shot on goal in the second half but made it count. In the 47th minute, Evan Blow (Charlottesville, Va./Charlottesville) was able to get a shot past the Eagle keeper an in for his 10th goal of the season.

In his return inside the net, Zach Aylor (Vinton, Va./William Byrd) stopped seven shots for the WildCats. It was a career-best effort for him.

Overall, the Eagles outshot the WildCats 13-11 and 7-2 in shots on goal. Corner kicks were slightly in Randolph's favor 6-5.

The 'Cats head on the road Sunday to Washington and Lee. Game time from Lexington will be at 1:00 p.m.
