LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph women's soccer team hosted Shenandoah in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference match on Saturday evening. The Hornets would hold the WildCats off the scoresheet on the night as they would win by the score of 5-0.
Randolph's overall record falls to 4-7 overall and 1-3 in the ODAC. The Hornets improve to 8-5-1 and 4-0-1 in the conference.
The Hornets had a pair of shots early in the first half that glanced off the goalposts. Shenandoah scored both of their goals within a minute of each other. The first goal came at 37:55 as Abbie Marquette headed a ball off a corner by Sage Musser. The second came nearly the same way. Musser sent a corner kick in that this time was scored by Chandler Gallant to put the visitors up 2-0 at the break.
SU scored three times in the second half. Total shots favored Shenandoah 14-3 with a 7-2 edge in shots on goal. The Hornets had eight total corners while the WildCats did not attempt one.
Sara Bane (Blue Ridge, Va./Lord Botetourt) had all three of Randolph's shots in the contest. Two of her shots went on frame.
Alexis Bossi (Falls Church, Va./Justice) had two saves. Kasie Kilmer also had two saves for Shenandoah in goal.
Randolph travels to Randolph-Macon on Wednesday. Game time will be at 7:00 p.m.
