ASHLAND, Va.- The Randolph volleyball team traveled to Randolph-Macon for a midweek ODAC match. The Yellow Jackets would win by the score of 3-0.
Randolph held a 3-2 lead in the first set before the Yellow Jackets went on an 8-3 run to jump ahead 10-3. The WildCats closed to 13-10 before the home team jumped ahead 19-10. RMC would go on to take the set 25-13.
In the second set, Randolph-Macon jumped out to an 8-1 lead. The WildCats were able to close to 10-7 but the Jackets used a 6-0 run to go up 16-7. From that point, the Jackets would go on to win the frame 25-13.
The Yellow Jackets got out ahead 9-2 in the third set. Randolph was able to close to 9-5 but RMC was able to increase its lead to 14-6. The score stood at 19-13 in the Yellow Jackets favor as they used a 6-1 run to close out the 'Cats.
Logan Warren (Chesterfield, Va./Steward School) led the 'Cats with four kills and two block assists. Kenleigh Gunter (Troutville, Va./Lord Botetourt) led in digs with 10.
The WildCats next travel to Fredericksburg this weekend for a non-conference tri-match this weekend. Randolph will face Christopher Newport at 2:00 p.m. followed by the University of Mary Washington at 4:00 p.m.
