LYNCHBURG, Va. – It was a defensive battle all the way as the Randolph women's soccer team faced Marymount on Saturday afternoon in the WIldCats' home opener. Both teams had opportunities to score but in the end the game ended as a scoreless tie through two overtime periods.

Randolph goalkeeper Zoe Waring (Chesapeake,Va./Hickory) was stellar in the net for the WildCats as she turned away nine Saints shots. It was her second shutout of the season.

Marymount led in total shots 15-6 and in shots on goal 9-3. Jenna Rozenboom (Vinton, Va./William Byrd) had three of the WildCats' shot attempts. Corner kicks favored Marymount 6-4.

The WildCats go on the road next Thursday to Winston-Salem, N.C. as they play Piedmont International. Game time will be at 6:00 p.m.
