Box Score BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Randolph College men's lacrosse team concluded its 2018 season with a 23-6 loss to host and Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) foe Bridgewater College on Saturday evening.
The Eagles held a 3-0 lead in the early minutes of the first quarter before Prince Charles (Virginia Beach, Va./Cape Henry Collegiate) notched back-to-back goals, both assisted by Kadri Hearns (Cumming, Ga./South Forsyth), to cut the score to 3-2.
Bridgewater managed to shake off the WildCats with three straight goals for a 6-2 advantage but the Eagles would soon find their lead trimmed once more as Brett Pausic (Saluda, Va./Christchurch) assisted Shane Shifflett (Westminster, Md./Westminster) and Charles with Randolph's next two goals to make it a 6-4 game. However, Bridgewater scored two more times to end the quarter with an 8-4 margin.
Shifflett recorded the only goal for the WildCats in the second quarter before the Eagles shut out Randolph in the third quarter, outscoring the 'Cats, 5-0, for a 20-5 lead. Gage Tutko notched the final goal for Randolph in the fourth quarter while Bridgewater dished out three more goals for the final 23-6 tally.
The Eagles outshot the WildCats, 51-27 while holding a 52-32 edge in ground balls and winning 21-of-32 face-offs.
Charles paced the WildCats with three goals, 11 shots and nine ground balls while dishing out one assist. Pausic finished the game with a team-high three assists while Hearns added two assists and four ground balls.
Matt Lindenbaum (Reisterstown, Md./Franklin) took the loss in goal, facing 17 shots and making three stops. James Stumpo (Warrenton, Va./Kettle Run) also saw time in the crease, making seven saves for the WildCats.
Randolph concludes the season with a 1-16 overall record and a 0-9 ODAC record.
