Men's Lacrosse Falls to Shenandoah, 14-3, on Senior Day

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Randolph College men's lacrosse team dropped a 14-3 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) decision to Shenandoah University on Saturday afternoon at WildCat Stadium.

Prior to the start of the game, the team honored its two seniors, Kadri Hearns (Cumming, Ga./South Forsyth) and Matt Lindenbaum (Reisterstown, Md./Franklin) for their hard work and dedication over the past four years.

The Hornets took a 3-0 lead in the first quarter before the Gage Tutko found the back of the net off a feed from Jack Dolan (Dumfries, Va./Potomac) to trim the deficit to 3-1 heading into the second quarter. However, Shenandoah managed to shut out the WildCats, outscoring Randolph 3-0, for a 6-1 margin at halftime.

Shenandoah pushed its lead all the way to 10-1 in the third quarter but the WildCats managed to put up another point on the scoreboard as Hearns found the stick of Prince Charles (Virginia Beach, Va./Cape Henry Collegiate) to make it a 10-2 game.

Josh Yeast (Chesapeake, Va./Norfolk Academy) assisted Dolan with Randolph's final goal of the game at the 11:09 mark in the fourth quarter before Shenandoah scored three more times to secure the final 14-3 triumph.

Brett Pausic (Saluda, Va./Christchurch) fired off five shots for the WildCats, with two on target, while Yeast recorded four shots. Jace Cornell picked up a team-high seven ground balls while Lindenbaum picked up six, earning the loss in goal as the senior goalkeeper made 12 saves and faced 26 shost.

The WildCats move to 0-10, 0-4 ODAC and continue with conference play as they host Washington and Lee University on Wednesday, April 4 at 7 p.m.
