Box Score HAMPDEN SYDNEY, Va. – The Randolph College men's lacrosse team were unable to outrun Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) foe Hampden-Sydney College as the Tigers defeated the WIldCats, 22-6, on Saturday afternoon in Lewis C. Everett Stadium.
With a 2-1 lead in the first quarter, the Tigers went on a 7-0 run for a 9-1 advantage before shutting out the WildCats, 6-0, in the following quarter to grab a comfortable 15-1 margin at halftime. The Tigers would add on seven more goals to cap off their game while Randolph managed three consecutive goals in the final minutes of the fourth quarter to hand the Tigers the final 22-6 tally.
Shane Shifflett (Westminster, Md./Westminster) and Jack Dolan (Dumfries, Va./Potomac) each recorded two goals for the WildCats while Zach Early (Roanoke, Va./Cave Spring) and Gage Tutko tallied one goal apiece with Tutko also adding two assists for the loss. Kadri Hearns (Cumming, Ga./South Forsyth) dished out two assists and scooped up three ground balls for Randolph while Prince Charles (Virginia Beach, Va./Cape Henry Collegiate) picked up 10 ground balls, won 7-of-18 face-offs and caused three turnovers.
Matt Lindenbaum (Reisterstown, Md./Franklin) took the loss in net, facing 27 shots and making 10 stops. James Stumpo (Warrenton, Va./Kettle Run) earned time in goal, facing five shots and making one save while Corey Boswell (Stafford, Va./Brooke Point) and Seth Ahrens also took turns in the crease, facing one shot apiece with Ahrens making one stop.
The WildCats fall to 0-8, 0-3 ODAC and are back home on Wednesday, March 28 when they host Huntingdon College in a non-conference tilt at 7 p.m.
