Women's Soccer Blanks Hollins 5-0

ROANOKE, Va.- The Randolph women's soccer team traveled to Roanoke to play Hollins in an ODAC match on Saturday. The WildCats saw their winless streak come to an end as they shutout Hollins 5-0.

The WildCats attacked early and often in the initial stages of the first half. The 'Cats got four shots on goal in just over 15 minutes of game time. Randolph got on the board at 17:27 as Patricia Garrett (Appomattox, Va./Appomattox County) passed from the middle to Delaney Doyle (Gloucester, Va./Gloucester) on the left who then shot it into the net for the goal. The WildCats struck again as Michaela Salerno (Lynchburg, Va./E.C. Glass) scored her first collegiate goal on a long shot to the back of the net at 36:23 as Randolph led 2-0 at the half.

Doyle scored her second goal of the day with an assist by Hannah Overstreet (Bedford, Va./Liberty) at 53:30. Salerno would score her second goal of the afternoon off a rebound from a shot by Hunter Robinson (Chesapeake, Va./Indian River/Slidell) that hit the post. Robinson assisted Garrett on Randolph's fifth and final goal of the game.

Shelby Lutz (Lynchburg, Va./Brookville) had the start in goal and did not face a shot. Randolph had a 50-2 advantage in total shots with 28 coming on frame.

The WildCats will look to start a new streak as it hosts Roanoke on Wednesday night at WildCat Stadium. Game time will be at 7:00 p.m.
