WildCats to Play Two Games; Host Cancer Awareness

LYNCHBURG, VA – For the first time in three weeks, the Randolph College men's lacrosse team will play two games in a week.  The first will come on Wednesday, while the second will be Saturday.  The game on Wednesday will be the last out of conference game of the season, while Saturday's game will provide more significant importance.

The 'Cats (7-3 overall, 1-2 ODAC) travel to Greensboro College (4-10) for an early start time on Wednesday, with the game beginning at 3:30 p.m.  With the proximity of the two schools, the teams have faced off against several opponents.  Both the Pride and the WildCats fell to Southern Virginia University and both defeated Piedmont easily, but the other three opponents saw different results.  Randolph beat Huntingdon, Methodist, and Ferrum, whereas Greensboro fell to all three.

On Saturday the WildCats return home to host Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) rival Hampden-Sydney College (7-5, 2-2).  While the game itself is very important in determining seeds for the ODAC Tournament at the end of the month, the game will also have special importance.  The 'Cats will wear tie-dye shirts during warmups to raise awareness for Cancer.  It will be the last Cancer Awareness Game of the year for the Randolph College Athletic Department.  Once again, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and Student Government will provide the shirts.  A collection box will be available for donations at the concession stand, and if you would like to support the cause through an online donation, please go to http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR?fr_id=71354&pg=team&team_id=1932376.

Wednesday's live stats will be provided at http://www.sidearmstats.com/greensboro/mlax/.

Saturday's game, which begins at 1 p.m., will have live stats and video.  Live stats can be followed at http://www.randolphwildcats.com/sports/mlax/2015-16/boxscores/20160409_tbws.xml, while video can be seen at http://portal.stretchinternet.com/randolph/.
