Box Score ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. -- After a 2-0 start, Randolph lost for the first time on the young season at N.C. Wesleyan this afternoon.
The Battling Bishops used a strong offensive start to get up on the WildCats early, scoring three times in the first half to get an edge.
Rebecca Staylor scored twice just 6:22 apart, before Stephanie Stallings made it 3-0.
Randolph made the game interesting with just under 27 minutes remaining, as sophomore Maggie Croft took advantage of a keeper off of her line for a slick 30 yard goal.
The momentum was short-lived, however, as Stallings took a feed from Staylor for her second goal of the contest, making it 4-1 just 4:15 later.
The WildCats didn't go away, however, as senior Brittany Hammons beat an aggressive goaltender from outside the box with 5:51 remaining to once again put Randolph in the game.
The ODAC's reigning women's soccer player of the week has now scored in all three games for the WildCats and leads the ODAC in goals (4) and points (9).
It took just 26 seconds for the Battling Bishops to respond, however, putting the game out of reach at 5-2 on a penalty kick.
Two first-years split the duty between the pipes for the WildCats, with Stephanie Quirk starting and finishing the contest, with Quinn-Lynn Bates making an appearance in the second half.
The duo combined to stop six shots.
Randolph next plays Tuesday at home against Southern Virginia in the first of three straight home games.
