Box Score GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Randolph got off to a slow start, falling to Greensboro, 13-9.
So far this season, Randolph's success has been contingent on great starts, as the team that won the first quarter was 9-1 entering today's contest.
In Randolph's wins, the WildCats outscored their foes, 13-3, in the first period, while being outscored, 26-3, in that frame in losses.
With that in mind, head coach Andy Sinclair's squad couldn't be happy after falling in an early 4-0 hole.
The remainder of the game was completely level, with each team scoring nine goals apiece.
Senior Colton Wood (Chula Vista, Calif./Otay Ranch) scored first and second for the WildCats, and was joined by first-year Shane Soghomonian (Gaithersburg, Md./Watkins Mill) as the two teams alternated the next six goals.
After two straight Pride goals, the WildCats strung together their only two consecutive goals of the day as sophomores Andrew Gleitz (Plymouth, Ind./Culver Military Academy) and Brian Crosby (Bethel, Conn./Bethel) scored back-to-back.
The final 10 goals alternated between the two teams, as Randolph couldn't make a run to overcome its slow start.
Randolph falls to 4-7 but resumes ODAC play with Washington and Lee on Saturday. The game will be Senior Day.
