Men's Lacrosse Falls to Randolph-Macon in ODAC Play

ASHLAND, Va. -- Randolph-Macon started out hot and earned a 12-3 win this afternoon.

Randolph-Macon jumped out to an 8-0 edge before sophomore Andrew Gleitz (Plymouth, Ind./Culver Military Academy) finally got Randolph on the scoreboard late in the second quarter.

Out of the break, he struck again, but the Yellow Jackets scored four straight to end any threat.

First-year Shane Soghomonian (Gaithersburg, Md./Watkins Mill) ended the scoring to give the game its 12-3 scoreline.

Randolph had the edge in faceoffs, ground balls and shots.

Senior John Grundy Jr. (Warrenton, Va./Battlefield) won 11-of-17 faceoffs and had a game-high four ground balls.

Senior Matthew Bray (Woodstock, Va./Claremont) had four caused turnovers.

The WildCats, who are now 3-4 and 0-3 in ODAC play, next take on Ferrum on Tuesday. The game is a "Purple Day" game for testicular cancer awareness. Fans are encouraged to wear purple to the contest.
