WildCats Travel to Virginia Wesleyan for a Mid-Week Tussle

Box Score

NORFOLK, Va. --- Women's soccer seeks to get back in the win column with a trip to Virginia Wesleyan at 6p.m.

About at the WildCats:

Randolph has lost three straight to fall to 2-5 on the year and fell in its first two ODAC matchups.

On Saturday, after Brittany Hammons (Newport News, Va./Grafton), the conference's leader in shooting percentage, opened up the scoring at rainy WildCat Stadium, the hosts conceded the final four goals, falling to Eastern Mennonite.

The team will be without a key cog in the midfield, Ally Ramos (Manassas, Va./C.D. Hylton), for the matchup, as the sophomore received a red card in that contest. Ramos has half of team's assists on the season, four, and is second in the conference in that category.

About the Marlins:

The Marlins are 5-1-2 this season, but perfect in their two ODAC matchups.

Coming off of resounding 7-0 wins at Hollins and Guilford, the Marlins are playing in their first home conference match of the year.

Kaitlyn Clunan is third in the ODAC in goals (6) and points (13). Megan Gerhart has allowed just three goals in 760:00, leading the ODAC in goals against, goals against average, shutouts and save percentage.

About the matchup:

The only common opponent shared so far between the two teams is Meredith, which forced a scoreless draw against the Marlins in the season opener. Meredith topped Randolph two weeks later.

These two teams have played at least once every year since 1996, with Virginia Wesleyan taking all 19 contests. Last season, the Marlins won 2-0 in Lynchburg.

WildCat to watch:

With Virginia Wesleyan taking 92 shots and scoring 14 goals in just two conference games, first-year goalkeeper Caitlin Annunziata (Havelock, N.C./Havelock) looks to see a ton of action between the pipes.

Coming off of a career-best 11 save performance, the Havelock native will likely have the opportunity to top that mark against the Marlins today and will be key to keeping the WildCats in the game.
