Box Score RALEIGH, N.C. -- Randolph was 5-0-1 in its last six games against Meredith in women's soccer, but the Avenging Angels lived up to their name, getting a measure of revenge today.
In last year's contest, the first between the schools in almost a decade, Randolph (2-3) broke a scoreless tie just over four minutes into overtime with a Melisa Rodriguez goal assisted by Marielle Rando (Powhatan, Va./Powhatan) to earn the win.
Tonight, Meredith (1-1-3) was much more offensive-minded. The Avenging Angels came out of the gates with goals on three straight shots in the first five minutes before tacking on insurance goals to earn the 8-0 win.
Randolph got off five shots, led by a pair from rookie Megan Kruse (Centreville, Va./Centreville).
