Box Score HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College outscored the Randolph College men's lacrosse team 7-1 in the second half, pulling away for a 12-3 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) victory Wednesday evening.
The Tigers (10-4/5-2 ODAC) scored the first four goals of the season before senior defender Ryan Blackwell (Brambleton, Va./Briar Woods) got forward and netted his first goal of the season to make it 4-1. Fellow senior Jon O'Hara (Yorktown, Va./Grafton) followed with a tally for Randolph with nine seconds left in the first period. Mike Funk scored the lone second quarter goal for H-SC, sending the hosts into break up 5-2 at halftime.
The second half was all Tigers though, as Hampden-Sydney tallied seven of the eight second-half goals to earn its fifth ODAC win of the year. Junior Colton Wood (Chula Vista, Calif./Otay Ranch) scored his 32nd goal of the year for Randolph, and first-year keeper Cam Davis (Gibsonville, N.C./Western Alamance) had 10 saves and five ground balls. Junior defender Ryan Pearson (Asbury, N.J./North Hunterdon) added three caused turnovers and two ground balls.
Randolph (5-10/2-6 ODAC) will finish its 2013 season on Saturday, as the WildCats celebrate Senior Day with a home contest with Randolph-Macon College at 1 p.m. in WildCat Stadium.
