Top Ranked W&L Stays Perfect in ODAC Play With Win Over Randolph

Box Score

LEXINGTON, Va. -- Washington & Lee extended its ODAC-best record with a win today in women's soccer.

The Generals, a team receiving votes in the D3soccer.com national poll, lived up to their impressive resume in the 11-0 victory.

With most of the action on the Randolph (3-8, 1-5 ODAC) defensive end, the WildCats only got off three shots, two of which required saves.

Senior Marielle Rando (Powhatan, Va./Powhatan) and  first-year Alissa Gembach (Lebanon, Va./Abingdon) both had attempts on cage, but were turned away by Washington & Lee (10-1, 6-0 ODAC) keepers.

First-year goalkeeper Caitlin Annunziata (Havelock, N.C./Havelock) stopped eight shots for Randolph.

Six different players scored for the Generals, led by Lauren Abraham's hat trick, which the midfielder earned in a 15:38 span.

With Randolph's next four ODAC contests all against teams fighting for the conference's final playoff births, the WildCats still have a chance to shape their own destiny in their quest to make the league's postseason tournament.

The team hosts Roanoke next on Tuesday in the team's Pink Game, which will support the Awareness Garden Foundation of Lynchburg and Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
