Tong Shines on Senior Day, But 'Cats Fall

Box Score

LYNCHBURG, Va. -- On senior day and Homecoming, Randolph faced an onslaught of shots, which allowed a graduating keeper to shine.

Senior Chloe Tong (Easton, Md./Wye River), in her first year as a college goalkeeper, rose to the senior day occassion on the day honoring her and teammates Anna Messier (Bedford, Va./Liberty), Marielle Rando (Powhatan, Va./Powhatan) and Elisa Otero (Chevy Chase, Md./St. John's).

Tong stopped the first 12 shots on goal her way, but finally broke after stopping three straight in less than 10 seconds. The fourth shot of the flurry finally got through, putting Bridgewater up.

She finished with 19 stops, the most by any Randolph keeper besides Vicki Johnson, the ODAC's all-time leader in saves.

Randolph conceded 36 shots, while only taking four.

The team hosts the final game of the year against cross-town rival Lynchburg on Wednesday.
