Box Score SALEM, VA – The Randolph College women's soccer team concluded its two-game road trip by falling to the Maroons of Roanoke College on Wednesday by a score of 4-0 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action from Kerr Stadium.
The game started off with a bang for the hosts as Roanoke forward Stephanie Parenteau slid a high arching header over Randolphb keeper Ashley Stevens (Leicester, MA/St. Peter-Marian) during the second minute of play. Stevens was able to tally eleven total saves during the match, and continues to show great hustle in her time in net.
Roanoke forward Carmen Graves also added two goals to her stat line with helpers coming from Parenteau. Rebekah Adams netted the final tally of the game for Roanoke.
The WildCats struggled to generate offense for most of the match, but their best opportunities came from first-year forward Abigail Bullins (Asheboro, NC/Asheboro). Bullins was able to pin three shots on goal but couldn't slip one by the Roanoke goalkeeper. Also getting free for shots at the net were senior midfielder Samantha Wittie (Canyon Lake, TX/Smithson Valley) and sophomore midfielder Melissa Rodriguez (Culpeper, VA/Eastern View).
The WildCats will continue ODAC play on Saturday, September 29, 2012 as they host the visiting Hornets of Shenandoah University for Family Weekend. Game time is set to start at 1:00 p.m.
