WildCat Men's Lacrosse Fall at No. 13 Roanoke College Saturday Afternoon

SALEM, VA – The Randolph College men's lacrosse team fell behind early and couldn't recover as the WildCats dropped an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) contest with No. 13 Roanoke College 26-3 Saturday afternoon from Kerr Stadium.

                The Maroons (9-3/4-1 ODAC) scored the first 20 goals of the game before John Croney (Wilmington, DE/Brandywine) got the WildCats on the board in the fourth quarter. Sophomore Anthony Mangano (North Garden, VA/Monticello) tallied his first collegiate goal in the period, as did Clay Orshoski (Elkwood, VA/Eastern View).

                Randolph senior keeper Kevin McCracken (Annandale, VA/Annandale) played the first half, making 12 saves before handing the game to sophomore Chris Songer (Chula Vista, CA/Otay Ranch) who made six saves in the second period. Junior pole Ryan Blackwell (Brambleton, VA/Briar Woods) had two ground balls and five caused turnovers for Randolph.

                Richard Lachlan had five goals while Jeff Keating posted four goals and two assists in the win. Chad Smith chalked up two goals and four assists and Chris Doran finished with four goals on the night for Roanoke. The Maroons outshot Randolph 67-17, and picked up 21 of the 34 faceoff wins.

                Randolph is off for a week before heading to Charlotte, NC to take on Berry College (GA) Saturday, April 14 at Charlotte County Day School at 11 AM.
