Box Score

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Randolph College women's lacrosse team played its penultimate game of the season, taking on cross town foe Lynchburg College Wednesday afternoon on a cloudy, rainy afternoon. LC earned the win though, posting a 19-2 victory from Shellenberger Field.

Lynchburg (9-6/6-2 ODAC) scored the first four goals of the contest before Randolph junior Danielle Haney (Norwood, PA/Interboro) notched her 41st of the season to make the score 4-1. The Hornets rattled off four more before Haney netted another to make the game 8-2. Unfortunately for the visiting WildCats (4-10/2-6 ODAC), LC finished the game on an 11-0 run to pull away.

Haney added to her team leading goal total, posting Randolph's only two scores to push her season mark to 42. Sophomore Courtney Kellogg (Tewksbury, MA/Central Catholic) posted an assist on Haney's second goal of the game. For Kellogg it was her fourth helper of the season, which is third on the team.

Junior defender Ashley Stevens (Leicester, MA/St. Peter-Marian) led the squad with four ground balls, causing two turnovers while sophomore middie Nushaa Kaz (Raleigh, NC/Ravenscroft) had three ground balls and a game-high four caused turnovers. Sophomore Ashley Edwards (Sumerduck, VA/Liberty-Bealeton) led the WildCats with six draw controls, but Randolph lost that category 15-8.

LC was paced by the four goals and one assist from Kendall Adkin, while Bri Slate had three goals and two assists. Sarah Shannon, Julie Will, Lesley Buckingham and Margot Holland all had a pair of strikes for the Hornets, who outshot Randolph 28-13.

The WildCats will finish their season Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. in Greensboro, NC against the Quakers of Guilford College in an ODAC bout.
