Box Score GREENSBORO, NC – Randolph College fell behind early and couldn't regain its footing as the WildCat men's lacrosse team dropped its Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) opener to Guilford College Saturday 17-2 in play from the Armfield Athletic Center.
The Quakers (6-2/1-0 ODAC) scored the first six goals of the game before sophomore Bobby Crosby (Bethel, CT/Bethel) netted a man-up goal for the WildCats to put Randolph on the board. Unfortunately, the WildCats didn't score another goal until the 5:05 mark of the fourth quarter, as Colton Wood (Chula Vista, CA/Otay Ranch) notched a man-up goal.
Randolph got 17 saves from senior keeperKevin McCracken (Annandale, VA/Annandale) in the loss, while John Grundy (Gainesville, VA/Battlefield) won seven of his 15 faceoffs on the day. Ryan Blackwell (Brambleton, VA/Briar Woods) had two caused turnovers and four ground balls for the WildCats (2-5/0-1 ODAC), who were outshot 46-15 on the day.
Guilford got a game-best five goals from Chase Clausen, while Greg Nash also scored four goals to propel the Quakers to the victory. Thomas Deane got the win in goal, making eight saves in 54:18 in net for GC.
Randolph will look to get back to its winning ways on Wednesday afternoon as Huntingdon College comes to WildCat Stadium for a 4 p.m. faceoff in non-conference action.
