ST. MARY'S CITY, MD – The Randolph College volleyball team completed its 2012 season Saturday afternoon, taking a pair of straight set wins at the Seahawk Invitational, hosted by St. Mary's College (MD).

                Randolph earned a 25-22, 25-19, 25-15 win over Hollins University in the opening match of the afternoon, before taking a huge win over Lycoming College with scores of 25-19, 25-22 and 25-20. The WildCats end the season with a 9-23 record on the year, but knocked off Lycoming which had been 21-11 coming into the match.

                In the first match of the afternoon, Randolph had no issues with Hollins, breezing to the straight set win. Randolph was paced offensively by the nine kills from sophomore Jordan Templin (Ferrum, VA/Franklin Co.), who hit .318 on the afternoon. Junior Sydney Henson (Winston-Salem, NC/Ronald Reagan) had six kills on 16 swins, while Sam Sublett (Bedford, VA/Staunton River) was responsible for three kills and four assisted blocks.

                Sophomore Lexi Harrington (Clemmons, NC/West Forsyth) posted 16 digs in the match, leading all defensive players. Sophomore Jessica Sanabria (Burgaw, NC/Pender) posted a season-best 11 digs for the WildCats.

                In the second match of the afternoon, the WildCats pulled the upset thanks to great hitting, posting a .321 hitting percentage on the contest. First-year Celine Rhodes (Barhamsville, VA/Jamestown) led the WildCats with eight kills on just 12 attacks, while Templin registered nine kills and six digs. Templin finished the season with 312 kills, the second-most in a season ever for Randolph.

                Harrington chalked up 16 digs to lead the WildCats, as she posted a final tally of 450 digs for the season. Her total of 450 is the third-most in school history, finishing just six short of the all-time single-season record of 456 set back in 2008 by Lindsay Wood. Sophomore Katherine Lesnak (Blountville, TN/Sullivan Central) had 10 digs as well for Randolph.

                The WildCats finish the season with a 9-23 season, but will return all but one of the 13 letter winners from this season in 2013.
