Biography

2017: Started eight games in goal … had three double-digit save games … season-high 17 stops and got the shutout in 0-0 tie vs. Roanoke … saw the field and had two shots with one coming on goal.

2016: Continued to dominant in between the pipes, serving as part of dominating pumpkin pie duo with Stephanie Quirk…started eight times on the year…stopped double-digit shots against Shenandoah and Virginia Wesleyan…included against VWC was a penalty save…had nine against NC Wesleyan, making several impressive stops…posted three shutouts…historic wins against Eastern Mennonite and Randolph-Macon, along with the tie against William Peace…finished fourth in the ODAC in save percentage at .846…also defeated Emory & Henry…will look to finish a stellar career as a senior.

2015: The second-half of the two-headed goalkeeping monster, Bates started and played in nine games…uses her length and athleticism to her advantage…she made 41 saves throughout the season, while recording two wins…both wins were shutouts, coming against William Peace and Guilford, with the Guilford win getting the team into the ODAC tournament…also scored her first-career goal in the win over Hollins University…will compete to continue to be part of one of the best duos in the conference.

2014: Spent much of the second half of the season between the pipes for Randolph...had an incredible start to her career with a shutout in her first career start and an astounding 20 saves in her second full contest...in that 20-save contest, Bates saved the first 17 shots of the game against W&L...finished the year with nine starts and 11 games played...had 105 saves on the year to finish second in the ODAC

Before Randolph: Four-year starter for the Blue Devils...second-team all-district and team MVP as a freshman in high school...first-team all-district and second team all-region as a sophomore...second team all-district in her third year...first team all-conference, all-region and all-sttate as a senior...NHS member.

Personal: Daughter of Paul and Donna...has an older brother, Treavor...played with current teammate Sarah Sivick growing up...played high school soccer with Randolph-Macon''s Samantha King...enjoys volunteering and expects to be active in clubs at Randolph...minoring in Sports and Exercise Studies.
