A graduate of Florida State, Richardson was a two-year member of the Seminoles after transferring from Rutgers. The 2014-15 team advanced to the Elite 8 and finished with a 32-5 record.

Richardson was a graduate student at Seton Hall from 2015-2018. The Neptune, N.J. native was an All-BIG EAST and All-Met selection during her lone season in Blue and White, averaging 12.4 points and 5.6 assists per game. She helped the Pirates to the 2016 NCAA Tournament and later became the first WNBA Draft pick in program history as a third round selection of the Dallas Wings. After playing with the Wings in the WNBA preseason, Richardson began her professional career in Lithuania before an injury cut her first season short. She took on the role as Coordinator of Basketball Operations at Seton Hall prior to the 2017-18 campaign where she assisted the program with travel and meal arrangements, gear distribution, practice planning and overall operations. She returned to professional basketball playing in Puerto Rico and Ireland for the 2018-19 season.

Richardson holds a bachelor's degree from Florida State University in criminology and a master's degree in Strategic Communication from Seton Hall University.
