Peter Sheldon

Peter Sheldon has been a competitive marathoner since hissuccessful Division III collegiate experience competing in 12seasons of track and cross country for Amherst College. Aftercollege, he competed for six years on the open team for SugarloafAthletic Club in Massachusetts as he was completing his PhD at theUniversity of Massachusetts.

More recently, he has placed in the Master's category innumerous marathons and local races. Sheldon became a Professor ofPhysics at Randolph College in 1998, and was advisor to the runningclub until he started and ran the cross country club team in 2005.The club team successfully competed in the ODAC in 2006, and becamean official NCAA team in 2007, at which point Sheldon becameassistant coach.

He is currently the Chair of the Department of Physics, and theDirector of the College's Summer Research Program.
