Shane Loeffler was hired as assistant men's basketball coach in July of 2016.
Loeffler comes to Randolph College with experience on and off the court. He began coaching at the Philadelphia 76ers’ Basketball Camp in Wilmington, Delaware in the summer of 2008. Loeffler continued assisting the NBA team until last summer. During that time he also worked as a counselor at the G.G. Smith Elite Skills Camp, while also providing individual training sessions for aspiring youth basketball players.
In addition to that experience, Loeffler served as an intern to the Temple University men’s basketball team in 2015. He organized player development sessions and data, while also providing valuable help with the Synergy program.
Loeffler finished his playing career this past winter at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania. He spent four years on the floor for the Garnet, which concluded with the best season in the history of the program. Serving as a captain for the 2015-2016 team, Loeffler helped the team win 22 games, and ultimately finish as the runner-ups for the ECAC South Division title. After the season, he was honored with the Swarthmore Athletics Tim Bemmer Memorial Award.
He graduated from Swarthmore in 2016 with a B.A. in political science.

Throughout the process, Shane’s drive and determination continued to separate him as a great choice to help continue the success of our program,” said head Randolph coach Pete Hamilton ’11. “His playing background under an excellent coach in Landry Kosmalski and the success he was able to contribute to as a captain at Swarthmore will be great experiences for us to draw from here at Randolph. Shane comes from a family of coaches and understands what it takes to help a program succeed at the college level.”
