LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph men's tennis team hosted Virginia Wesleyan in the quarterfinals of the ODAC Tournament on Tuesday afternoon. The WildCats rallied behind a supportive crowd and came back to defeat the Marlins 4-3.

The Marlins led 1-0 after the completion of doubles play. The WildCats fell behind 2-0 before picking up a point when Jason Duval (Kingston, Jamaica) won 6-3, 1-6, 6-2 over Alen Cuovic at fifth singles. The Marlins went ahead 3-1 after Vincenzo Marchese lost to Veikko Sivonen 7-5, 6-2 at third singles.

Randolph needed to win three matches to claim the victory. Andreas Mulner (Brasnov, Romania) was a 7-5, 7-6 winner over Jed Platts at second singles.  Jacob Martin (Wadebridge Cornwall, Great Britain Callywith College) won in three sets over Acaan Choudhard 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 which tied the match at 3-3. Aksel Tinnes-Rimehaug (Oslo, Norway) at fourth singles was the last match to complete. He won the first set over Sebastien Muller 6-4 before Muller claimed the second set 6-3. Tinnes-Rimehaug then took the third set 6-4 to clinch the match for the WildCats.

The victory was the second straight for Randolph over Virginia Wesleyan and just the third in program history. It was the first ODAC Tournament victory for the WildCats over the Marlins.
