LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Randolph College Softball team was back on the road to Bridgewater for a ODAC weekend doubleheader. The WildCats dropped game one 1-10 to the Eagles and fell in game two, 0-8.
Game One
The Eagles got off to a 3-0 lead in the opening inning after a RBI double and run scored on an error. The Eagles added to their lead in the third inning with a home run to left field to tack on three more runs.
The WildCats lone run came when
Addy Compton singled to left field to bring
Brianne Slape across the plate in the fifth inning. However, the Eagles responded with three more runs in the sixth for the run-rule victory.
Compton had the lone RBI and went 1-for-2 in the game.
Austyn Moran got the start in the circle in which she tossed 5.0 innings and had six strikeouts.
Delaney Sipes came in as relief.
Game Two
Bridgewater started the game with a 3-0 lead after the first and kept the game in their advantage as they went to score runs in the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth innings for the run-rule win.
Haili Gonzalez and
Rylee Humble went 1-for-3 on the day. In the circle, Humble recorded one strikeout.
The 'Cats are back home to face Eastern Mennonite, tomorrow, at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
