GREENSBORO, N.C- The Randolph men's lacrosse team went on the road to Guilford on Wednesday for a midweek ODAC matchup with the Quakers. GC defeated the WildCats 7-2.
Guilford led 2-0 at the end of the first quarter despite Randolph leading in total shots 12-8 and in shots on goal 9-6. The Quakers went ahead 3-0 just under the 12 minute mark of the second quarter. Randolph made it 3-1 on a Jacob Bucceri (Spotsylvania, Va./Caroline HS) goal at 8:21. Guilford scored again with less then eight minutes left in the quarter to lead 4-1 at halftime.
The WildCats cut the score in half as Bucceri scored again at 13:21 to make it a 4-2 contest in the third quarter. GC scored twice in the period and added another score in the fourth quarter.
The WildCats led in total shots 44-35 and in shots on goal 22-18. Bucceri finished with two goals and two groundballs. Keegan Slider (Saluda, Va./Christchurch School) made 11 saves between the pipes and picked up four groundballs.
Randolph returns home to host Shenandoah on Saturday. Game time is at 4:00 p.m.
