MANHEIM, Pa.- The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) has announced the NCAA Division III Men's Scholar All-American Awards, recognizing outstanding academic achievement by individual student-athletes across the nation. Sophomore Theodore Piluso (Troutville, Va./Lord Botetourt) was Randolph's lone representative. This is his second straight Scholar All-American accolade.
A total of 473 student-athletes representing 105 institutions were recognized for their academic success in the classroom while competing throughout the season.
Piluso has not declared a major. He finished the season third on the WildCats in total points with 21.5 and tied for the team lead in wins with 16. At NCAA Regionals, Piluso placed seventh in the 165-weight class.
"These student-athletes have demonstrated a strong commitment to excellence both on the mat and in the classroom. We commend their dedication and the example they set for the sport." — NWCA Executive Director Mike Moyer.
