LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph men's tennis team hosted Washington College on Saturday. The Shoremen defeated the WildCats by the score of 4-3.

Washington claimed a point after the doubles portion of the match. Jacob Martin (Wadebridge Cornwall, Great Britain Callywith College) and Andreas Mulner (Brasnov, Romania) defeated Tichi Chialva and Maxi Synnestvedt 6-4. The third doubles match saw Jason Duval (Kingston, Jamaica) and Aksel Tinnes-Rimehaug (Oslo, Norway) edged out 7-6 by Kohl Perkins and Demir Isiker.

Martin won his first singles match over Chialva 6-2, 6-2. Mulner was a 6-0, 6-4 winner over Synnestvedt at second singles. Vincenzo Marchese won at third singles match 6-1, 6-2 over Jorge Urgal Zuleta. Tinnes-Rimehaug went three sets in his fourth singles match with Perkins. Perkins won the first set 6-2 while Tinnes-Rimehaug won the second set 6-1 while Perkins was a 6-0 winner in the third set. Duval needed three sets against Petter Storberg at fifth singles. Duval took the first set 6-4 with Storberg claiming the next two sets 6-3, 6-4.

Randolph travels to Hilton Head, S.C. for a week of matches. The WildCats will face the University of Rochester on March 8. Start time is at 4:00 p.m.
