EXINGTON, Va. – The Randolph WildCats women's volleyball team came up short against nationally recognized Washington and Lee on Friday, falling to the Generals in straight sets, 25-13, 25-14, 25-14.
Strong starts by the Generals in each set forced the 'Cats to play from behind. Randolph created several opportunities throughout the match but struggled to string together consistent runs to challenge Washington and Lee.
Destanie Ambers led the WildCats with 10 kills, moving into a tie for sixth in program history for single-season kills per set alongside Autumn Troxell, who accomplished the feat in 2016.
Carly Schopp added 12 assists, while
Cameron Cox contributed 10 digs to help the Randolph defense.
With the loss, Randolph falls to 11-7 overall and 2-3 in ODAC play. The 'Cats return to action Tuesday, Oct. 13, when they host Sweet Briar inside Giles Gymnasium. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
