WINCHESTER, Va. -- The Randolph WildCats men's soccer team picked up a much-needed result against Shenandoah on Saturday afternoon. Facing the threat of ODAC tournament elimination, the 'Cats stayed alive in the postseason race, scoring three goals in the second half to rally from a two-goal deficit and earn a 3-3 draw.
Randolph faced an uphill battle after falling behind 2-0 in the first half. The WildCats came out with renewed energy after the break, cutting the deficit in half just six minutes into the second period. Marcus Cortes found the back of the net in the 52nd minute to put Randolph on the board and give the 'Cats a fighting chance.
The response continued despite another setback, as Randolph found itself once again trailing by two scores. In the 60th minute, Sage Dombrovkis brought the WildCats within one, finishing a play set up by Nick Conboy and Eyouel Samuel to make it a one-goal game.
Randolph kept pushing, with the pay off coming in the 80th minute. Corey Williams connected with Conboy, who buried the equalizer to cap the WildCats' three-goal second-half performance and secure the draw.
