NEW MARKET, Va. - The Randolph women's cross country team traveled up to the New Market Battlefield for the JMU XC Invitational to race the 5k against seven other schools.

The first finisher for the WildCats was Jessica Taylor, who finished 38th place with a time of 23:10.8 and not too far behind was Ryleigh Frayser in 23:42.9. There were four WildCats that made their 5k debut for Randolph. Madison Somerville finished with a time of  25.01.9. Abi Brigman came in at 29.06.1. Shaniya Owens clocked a 33.27.9 and Annabelle Anthony was right behind with a 37:06.7.

The 'Cats will hit the course next at the Roanoke XC Invitational for a regional preview on Oct. 18 in Salem, Va.
