West Punches Ticket to NCAA Championships

West Qualifies for the NCAA Champs in the 400m
LYNCHBURG, Va. - Eric West becomes the third Randolph College track and field athlete in school history to qualify for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

West will compete in the 400 meters after running a time of 47.21 at the ODAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships where he took home first place at the meet and is currently tied for 19th in Division III.

This will be West's first trip to the outdoor championships but it is also Randolph's third appearance since 2019. The sophomore follows the footsteps of DJ Petty '19, who was the second runner from Randolph's program to compete at the NCAA Outdoor meet, qualifying for the 110 meter hurdles in 2019.

The NCAA DIII Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held Thursday-Saturday, May 22-24 in Geneva, Ohio. West competes Friday in the 400m preliminary round at 3:00 PM, then if he qualifies, advances to the 400m final on Saturday at 2:10 p.m.
