LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph men's tennis team hosted Methodist in a non-conference match on Sunday afternoon. The WildCats defeated the Monarchs 5-2.

With the victory, Randolph improves to 7-3 overall.

The WildCats led 1-0 after doubles play. Jacob Martin (Wadebridge Cornwall, Great Britain Callywith College) and Andreas Mulner (Brasnov, Romania) won at first doubles 6-3 over the pair of Matthew Hurley and Decklan Rayner. Vincenzo Marchese and Lukas Rathgeb (Koln, Germany Apostelgymnasium) won their third doubles match over Harry Crokam and Ethan Carlyle 6-3. Jason Duval (Kingston, Jamaica) and Carlos Haupt (Weston, Fla./FLVS) were edged out by Drew Guarnieri and Cameron Roth 7-6.

Martin won at second singles against Crokam 7-5, 6-3, 1-0 (10-8). Marchese defeated Carlyle 6-1, 6-0 at third singles. Duval was a 6-3, 6-1 winner over Christian Tihanovich at fourth singles. Lukas Rathgeb won his sixth singles match against Roth 6-4, 6-0.

Randolph travels to #28 Washington and Lee on Tuesday. The match begins at 4:30 p.m.
