HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Randolph College women's track and field team continued to shine during the outdoor season with a strong showing at the VertKlasse Meeting hosted by High Point University this past Friday and Saturday. The WildCats turned in several personal bests, new school records, and another top-10 finish against a highly competitive field.
Randolph was well-represented in the 100-meter dash, led by
Tatianna Langston who clocked in at 12.73 seconds. She was followed closely by
Jaidyn Turner (12.96),
Jessica Taylor (13.00),
Jennifer Moore (13.35),
Lily Whiting (13.40), and Imani Hardin (14.20), showcasing the team's sprint depth.
In the 200 meters, Turner posted another strong effort with a time of 26.18 seconds. Langston followed at 26.56, with Whiting (28.13) and Hardin (29.88) rounding out the squad's efforts.
The highlight of the weekend came in the 400-meter hurdles, where Taylor set a new school record with a time of 1:06.65. Moore also had a standout race with a season-best 1:09.23, while
Shaniya Owens finished in 1:19.44.
Owens also competed in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing with a time of 18.92 seconds.
In the 800 meters,
Ryleigh Frayser ran a strong race, crossing the line in 2:40.26.
Jenna Sass completed the 5000m in 19:13.39 for a new school record.
Kiersten Alling continued her stellar season in the field events. She broke the school record in the hammer throw with a mark of 45.39 meters, placing 7th overall in a deep field. She also recorded marks of 35.92m in the discus and 10.05m in the shot put.
Randolph's 4x100 meter relay team, Turner, Langston, Moore, and Taylor also had a standout performance, clocking a time of 49.98 seconds.
The WildCats travel up the road to the University of Lynchburg on Friday and Saturday for the Dennis Craddock Invitational.
