Women's Lacrosse Falls to Averett

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Randolph women's lacrosse team faced a tough battle against Averett on Wednesday night, falling 2-25 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference matchup at WildCat Stadium.

The WildCats (0-9, 0-5 ODAC) found the back of the net twice in the contest, with Maddie Friel scoring unassisted in the first quarter and Mackenzie Woodson adding another unassisted goal early in the second. Despite their efforts, Randolph was unable to keep pace with a potent Averett attack.

Randolph had eight shots total on the night (three on goal). The 'Cats were even in ground balls with Averett, with each team picking up 11 ground balls.

Mireya Norville started in goal for the WildCats and recorded 11 saves, while Jessica Reyes closed out the game making two saves.

The 'Cats are back on the field, Saturday, when they host Randolph-Macon at 3 p.m.
