LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Randolph women's track and field team turned in a strong showing at the Dennis Craddock Invitational hosted by the University of Lynchburg, collecting a wave of personal and seasonal bests across multiple events.
Jessica Taylor had a breakout performance, clocking a personal best of 58.39 seconds in the 400m to finish 4th overall. She also placed 13th in the 200m with a new PR of 26.38.
In the throws,
Kiersten Alling continued her dominance, finishing 3rd in both the discus (38.28m, SB) and hammer throw (44.69m), while also claiming 4th in the shot put (10.44m, SB).
Vivianna Gustin added an 8th-place shot put finish (10.16m) and 13th in the hammer (27.24m). Nevaeh Foreman threw a PR of 25.36m in the discus and 29.81m in the hammer throw.
Kendra Smith impressed in the jumps, placing 7th in the long jump (5.05m) and 7th in the triple jump (10.38m). She also competed in the 100m dash running a time of 13.89 seconds.
On the track,
Tatianna Langston and
Jaidyn Turner ran strong in both the 100m and 200m. Langston placed 10th in the 100m (12.92) and 14th in the 200m (26.43), while Turner took 12th in the 100m (13.03) and 17th in the 200m (26.72).
Jennifer Moore recorded a solid double as well, running 27.05 in the 200m and 1:10.56 in the 400m hurdles.
In middle distance action,
Ryleigh Frayser set a new personal best of 2:32.89 in the 800m, while
Jenna Sass ran 5:17.51 in the 1500m.
The WildCats also found success in the relays, with the 4x100m team (Moore, Turner, Taylor, Langston) finishing 3rd in 49.30 seconds, a season best. The 4x400m squad (Turner, Langston, Moore, Taylor) raced to a 2nd-place finish in 4:08.59 for a new school record.
The 'Cats are back on the track when they host the WildCat Invitational at WildCat Stadium on Saturday.
