Men's T&F Racks Up PRs and Top Finishes at Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Randolph College men's track and field team delivered several standout performances this weekend at the Dennis Craddock Invitational, hosted by the University of Lynchburg, highlighted by personal records, season bests, and top-10 finishes across multiple events.

Eric West had an impressive showing, qualifying for the finals in the 100m dash with a time of 11.06 before finishing 7th overall at 11.10. West also earned a 4th-place finish in the 200m, clocking 21.92. Xavier Calloway also competed in the 100m (11.73) alongside teammates Kyle Kurtz (11.66), Gary Hunter (11.89, SB), and Azavion Childress (12.28).

In the 110m hurdles, Mario Carter claimed 7th with a personal-best 16.10, while also leaping to a PR of 13.63m in the triple jump to take 4th.

Colby Lambert shined in the 400m, placing 3rd with a personal-best 49.96. Kendric Love followed closely in 5th (50.22), and Landon Petcher notched a PR of 53.51. In the 200m, Lambert placed 18th (22.71), while Love and Petcher crossed in 23.10 and a PR of 23.59, respectively.

Ben Hiss set a new personal best in the 800m (2:07.83) and also competed in the 1500m (4:27.38). Mason Williams ran 4:51.21 in the 1500m, while Tyler Brubaker placed 14th in the 3000m steeplechase, clocking a PR of 10:45.27. Jake Arnold represented the WildCats in the 5000m, finishing in 17:47.23.

In the pole vault, Jayden Watkins soared to equal his personal-best 4.35m to take 2nd overall, while Peyton Jackson cleared 3.45m for 10th place. Watkins also placed 10th in the javelin with a throw of 42.93m.

Xavier White had a strong day in the throws, earning 10th in both the discus (37.65m PR) and hammer throw (42.72m), and placing 26th in the shot put (10.69m). Henry Harlow posted marks in all three throwing events, discus (19.80m), hammer throw (30.54m), and shot put (8.37m).

In the horizontal jumps, Calloway posted a season-best 6.11m in the long jump and added a 12.26m mark in the triple jump. 

The WildCats had a 5th-place finish in the 4x100m relay. The squad of Calloway, Lambert, West, and Kurtz clocked 42.88.

The 'Cats are back on the track when they host the WildCat Invitational at WildCat Stadium on Saturday.
