Women's Track & Field Breaks Four Records at Shamrock Invitational

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Randolph women's track and field team broke four school records and had some personal records at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational this weekend.

In the 4x200m relay, the team of Jaidyn Turner, Jennifer Moore, Jessica Taylor, and Tatianna Langston placed sixth with a time of 1:45.48 to set a new school record. Jenna Sass set a new record in the 3000m running a time of 11:02.77 for a personal-best. In the mile, Ryleigh Frayser came through in 6:29.86 to set a new record for the program. Taylor impressed in the 400m hurdles, securing 10th place with a personal-best and school record of 1:07.31.

In the 100m, Taylor led the WildCats finishing with a time of 12.71. Turner clocked a personal best of 13.08, while Langston (13.27) and Moore (13.37) also posted solid performances. In the 200m, Langston came in 26.55 and Turner in 27.15. Shaniya Owens ran the 100m hurdles and recorded a personal best of 18.85. Moore also competed in the 400m hurdles to run a time of 1:16.68.

Kendra Smith competed in the heptathlon, recording a time of 18.01 seconds in the 100m hurdles and clearing 1.36m in the high jump. She also placed 10th in the javelin (21.96m) and set a personal best in the shot put (8.19m).
In the throws, Kiersten Alling threw 32.73m in the discus and in the shot put threw 10.15m, while Viianna Gustin set personal bests in both the discus (28.24m) and the hammer throw (31.95m) and recorded a mark of 10.03 in the shot put.

The 4x100m relay team of Moore, Smith, Taylor, and Langston finished in 50.02 for 13th place.

The 'Cats are back outside Friday and Saturday when they take the short trip to the University of Lynchburg for the Dr. Jack Toms Invitational.
