MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Randolph men's track and field team delivered strong performances with three school records and a couple of personal records set at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational this weekend.
The 4x200-meter relay broke the school record by about two seconds with a 1:27.05 to place third. The team consisted of
Jordan Edwards,
Colby Lambert,
Kendric Love, and
Eric West. In the 3000-meter,
Tyler Brubaker notched a personal-best to set a new school record in 9:49.80.
Tanner Cochran ran a 4:35.32 to clock a new school record in the mile.
In the 100m, Edwards led the squad with a personal-best of 10.94.
Xavier Calloway ran a 11.71 in the event. In the 200m, West (21.95) and Edwards (21.96) placed back-to-back in 10th and 11th. West was .05 off the school record, currently held by Edwards. Lambert followed with a solid 22.48,
Christian Humes came in at 22.89 and Love crossed the line in 23.04.
For the 400m, West led the way again, finishing ninth in 49.77, while Love (50.90), Lambert (51.13), and Humes (51.24).
In the field,
Jayden Watkins cleared 3.95m to finish fourth in the A flight. Watkins also competed in the javelin, launching a throw of 45.90m.
Xavier White posted strong marks in the discus (33.57m) and shot put (12.08m). Calloway leaped 6.10m in the long jump and
Peyton Jackson jumped 12.02m in the triple jump.
The 'Cats are back outside Friday and Saturday when they take the short trip to the University of Lynchburg for the Dr. Jack Toms Invitational.
