LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph men's tennis team hosted Shenandoah in an ODAC match on Saturday afternoon. The Hornets won a tough match over the WildCats 4-3.
Randolph's record drops to 5-2 overall and 2-1 in conference play.
The WildCats led 1-0 after doubles play. Jacob Martin (Wadebridge Cornwall, Great Britain Callywith College) and Ondra Pelda (Prague, Czech Republic) won 6-1 over Neal Love and Dominick Suwak at first doubles. Vincenzo Marchese and Andreas Mulner (Brasnov, Romania) were 6-1 winners over the pair or Artem Babaiev and Jovan Cirkovic at third doubles.
Mulner won his second singles match against Babaiev 6-2, 6-1. Carlos Haupt (Weston, Fla./FLVS) was the last on the court and he needed third sets to defeat Max Arkans (6-4, 5-7, 6-4).
The WildCats will host Hendrix College on Monday afternoon. The match will start at 3:00 p.m.
