FERRUM, Va.- The Randolph women's tennis team played Ferrum in a ODAC contest on Wednesday afternoon. The WildCats took the victory as they shutout the Panthers 5-0.
The WildCats improve to 4-3 overall on the season and 2-0 in conference play.
In the doubles portion of the match, Lena Kersten (Bonn, Germany) and Lize van Veen (Harderwijk, The Netherlands RSG Slingerbos) defeated Skylar Honeycutt and Hannah Huffman 6-0. Sabrina Dickerson (Brookneal, Va.) and Gianna Cabrera (Portsmouth, Va.) won 6-1 over Gabby Mendoza and Madison Cox at second singles. For Dickerson, it was her 50th career win in doubles and singles combined.
In singles play, Kersten won easily over Madison Cox, 6-0, 6-0 at first singles. Van Veen was a 6-0, 6-1 winner over Hannah Huffman.
Randolph hosts Shenandoah in a non-conference match this Saturday. The match starts at 1:00 p.m.
